1. Scope
This Policy applies only to martynlawrencebullard.com. It does not apply to:

Users are directed not to submit sensitive personal information, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, health information, or confidential third-party information through the Site or by unencrypted email.
3. Information Collected Automatically
We and our service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen characteristics;
- Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and links clicked;
- Referring website, referring search terms, and exit pages;
- Session identifiers stored in cookies, local storage, or similar technologies.
4. Advertising, Analytics, and Identity Resolution Technologies
The Site uses cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, and similar technologies supplied by third parties. Certain of these are advertising and identity resolution technologies.
4.1 Identity resolution
The Site uses an identity resolution service provided by [PIXEL VENDOR]. This technology may collect a visitor’s IP address, device and browser characteristics, cookie identifiers, and browsing activity on the Site, and may transmit that information to the vendor. The vendor may match that information against its own databases and databases licensed from other parties in order to associate the visit with an identifiable individual. Depending on the match, information returned to us or used by the vendor may include:
- Name;
- Email address;
- Postal address;
- Other contact or demographic attributes held in the vendor’s data cooperative or partner networks.
This may occur without the visitor submitting a form, creating an account, or otherwise identifying themselves. Information obtained through this technology is used for audience measurement, marketing performance analysis, advertising audience construction, and follow-up with prospective design studio clients and trade accounts.
4.2 Advertising and analytics partners
The Site may use analytics and advertising technologies operated by third parties, including Google and Meta, which may set cookies and receive information about a visit for measurement, attribution, audience building, and retargeting purposes.
4.3 Email marketing and on-site behavioral tracking
The Site uses Klaviyo to operate the mailing list and subscription forms. Klaviyo sets cookies and may record on-site browsing activity, including pages viewed and forms submitted, and may associate that activity with a subscriber profile where an email address has been provided. A visitor may unsubscribe using the link in any message or by contacting hello@martynlawrencebullard.com, and may block or remove Klaviyo cookies through browser settings.
4.4 Embedded content and site tools
Pages on the Site embed content hosted by third parties, including YouTube video, a social media feed, and press media. Embedded content operates as though the visitor had accessed the third-party site directly, and the provider may set cookies, deploy additional tracking, and monitor interaction with that content. The Site’s accessibility toolbar uses third-party services, including Google Translate, when those features are activated.
4.5 Opt out
A visitor may opt out of the identity resolution technology and of advertising cookies by contacting hello@martynlawrencebullard.com with the subject line "Opt Out of Sale and Sharing." Cookies may also be managed or blocked through browser settings. MLB is implementing a consent management tool that will permit opt out directly on the Site.
5. Use of Information
Personal information is used to:
- Respond to design studio, trade, press, speaking, and general inquiries;
- Evaluate and follow up on prospective projects and trade accounts;
- Send newsletters and other communications the recipient has requested;
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site;
- Measure content, campaign, and advertising performance, and construct and refine marketing audiences;
- Detect and prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Use.
6. Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information is disclosed to:
- Service providers that host the Site, deliver email, provide analytics, provide identity resolution, filter spam, manage advertising, and provide related business services;
- Advertising and data partners, as described in Sections 4 and 7;
- Professional advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and insurers;
- Successors in interest in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets;
- Authorities and other parties where disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MLB, its clients, its personnel, or others.
MLB does not disclose personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes without offering the consumer a choice.
7. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
California and certain other states define "sale" and "sharing" broadly. Because the Site uses identity resolution and advertising technologies that transfer identifiers and browsing activity to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration, or for cross-context behavioral advertising, MLB’s use of those technologies may constitute a sale or sharing of personal information under those laws.
In the preceding twelve months, the categories of personal information that may have been sold or shared are: identifiers, including name, email address, postal address, IP address, and online identifiers; internet or other electronic network activity information, including browsing history on the Site; commercial information reflecting interest in products and services; and inferences drawn from the foregoing.
MLB does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under sixteen years of age.
To opt out, a consumer may contact hello@martynlawrencebullard.com with the subject line "Opt Out of Sale and Sharing."
8. California Privacy Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed;
- Delete personal information collected from them, subject to statutory exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
- Be free from retaliation or discrimination for exercising these rights.
Requests may be submitted to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com with "California Privacy Rights Request" in the subject line, or by mail to the address in Section 18. The request should identify the right being exercised and provide a name, a California address, and a current contact method. MLB will take reasonable steps to verify identity before acting and may decline a request it cannot verify. An authorized agent may submit a request with written permission signed by the consumer, and MLB may require the consumer to confirm the agent’s authority directly.
9. Opt-Out Preference Signals and Do Not Track
Opt-out requests received at hello@martynlawrencebullard.com are honored for the requesting consumer. MLB is implementing a consent management tool that will recognize the Global Privacy Control and other opt-out preference signals transmitted by a browser or extension.
Certain browsers transmit a Do Not Track signal. There is no common industry standard governing the interpretation of Do Not Track signals, and MLB does not respond to them.
10. Shine the Light
California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. MLB does not make such disclosures without offering the consumer a choice. Requests may be submitted to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com with "California Shine the Light Request" in the subject line, together with a name, a California address, and a current contact method.
11. Other State Privacy Rights
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and Delaware, and other states as those laws take effect, may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. Certain of those states also provide a right to appeal a denied request. Requests may be submitted to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com. A consumer may appeal a denial by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line, and may contact the applicable state attorney general regarding the outcome.
12. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom
The Site is operated from the United States and directed to a United States audience. For visitors accessing the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a visitor may request that non-essential cookies and tracking technologies, including the identity resolution technology described in Section 4, not be deployed, by contacting hello@martynlawrencebullard.com. Where applicable law provides rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, those rights may be exercised by contacting hello@martynlawrencebullard.com. The legal bases for processing are consent, legitimate interests in operating and promoting the studio, and compliance with legal obligations. A complaint may be lodged with the applicable supervisory authority. Personal information submitted will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
13. Design Studio Inquiries
Information submitted through the MLB Design Studio inquiry form is used to evaluate and respond to prospective projects. Submission of an inquiry does not create a designer and client relationship, does not obligate the studio to accept a project, and does not render the submission confidential. Inquiry records are retained for business and legal purposes whether or not a project proceeds.
14. Marketing Communications
Subscribers to the mailing list receive periodic communications regarding projects, collections, press, the Atelier, the Live, Love and Decorate series, and related matters. Each message contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests may also be sent to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com. Transactional and relationship messages, including replies to inquiries, may continue after a marketing unsubscribe.
15. Data Retention
Personal information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to maintain business records, to resolve disputes, and to comply with legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified. Inquiry records, correspondence, and mailing list records are generally retained for the duration of the relationship and a reasonable period thereafter. Blog comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely for comment moderation purposes.
16. Security
MLB maintains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure, and MLB does not guarantee absolute security. In the event of a security incident affecting personal information, MLB will respond as required by applicable law.
17. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. MLB does not knowingly collect personal information from any person under the age of sixteen. Notice of any such collection may be sent to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com, and the information will be deleted.
18. Changes and Contact
This Policy is reviewed periodically and may be revised to reflect changes in practices, technologies used, or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
