I love this fantastical living room in Narragansett , Rhode Island. The heart of a magnificent beach front Victorian mansion , the fearless directive for this room was to look like an ancestral home inherited from an eccentric old aunt .... with such fun direction i designed this room with whimsical abandon , from the textured Madagascar covered walls to the 19 th century Irish taxidermy display cases , rare orange Chinese export ware and 18 th century etchings of Etruscan pottery. Somebody asked me today on my insta live what’s my favorite room at home .... well here it is , the media room. This room houses hours of fun watching movies and tv shows from the projector hidden in the little circle above the @ruvenafanador artwork. The deep ( 5 ft d x 16ft w ) ottoman sofa provides luxurious lounging and tented walls ( in an @schumacher1889 Cotton ikat stripe ) give a sense of exotic coziness. A rug from my dear friend @timothywhealon ‘s collection for @pattersonflynnmartin covers the encaustic floor tiles and Moroccan inspired tables from the @ateliermartynlawrencebullard complete the look.
