Architectural details from local buildings in Bali were incorporated, from the black clay roof tiles of the Bulgari Hotel, to the green lava rock tiles in the reflecting pools of the Ubud Temples.
Alongside the original Balinese materials and antiques, I decided to add furnishings from around the globe including items from Japan, China, India, and Portugal to prevent the house from feeling too themed.
