Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of martynlawrencebullard.com (the "Site"), operated by Martyn Lawrence Bullard LLC ("MLB," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, submitting an inquiry, subscribing to the mailing list, or otherwise engaging with the Site, the user agrees to these Terms. A user who does not agree should not use the Site.
The Site is intended for adults. By using the Site, the user represents that they are at least eighteen years of age and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
1. Nature of the Site
The Site presents the professional portfolio, editorial content, collections, partnerships, press, and public appearances of Martyn Lawrence Bullard and the MLB Design Studio. Project pages, blog posts, episode guides, travel and address content, showroom listings, and collection pages are published for general informational and editorial purposes.
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional design, architectural, engineering, structural, contracting, code compliance, appraisal, investment, legal, or financial advice, or a substitute for engaging a qualified licensed professional. Interiors shown on the Site were designed for specific clients, sites, budgets, and jurisdictions.
2. No Designer and Client Relationship
Use of the Site, contact with MLB, or submission of an inquiry through the MLB Design Studio form does not create a designer and client relationship. Such a relationship is created only by a written agreement signed by an authorized representative of MLB. Until such an agreement is executed, no obligation to perform services arises and no submission is treated as confidential. Users should not transmit confidential, privileged, or proprietary material through the Site.
3. MLB Fabrics and Wallcoverings
MLB Fabrics and Wallcoverings are sold to the trade through an authorized network of showrooms and design industry professionals. Product pages, swatch listings, pattern names, colorways, and specification details on the Site are published for reference and specification purposes only and do not constitute an offer to sell to the general public. No order is placed, no price is quoted, and no contract is formed through the Site. Pricing, availability, lead times, minimums, memo policies, and terms of sale are established by the applicable showroom or by MLB in writing.
Colors, patterns, weaves, textures, and finishes shown on the Site are photographic and screen representations. Screen calibration, lighting, dye lot, railroading, repeat placement, and the natural variation of fibers and hand-finished materials will cause actual goods to differ from what appears on the Site. Specification should be made from a current physical sample. MLB makes no representation or warranty as to colorfastness, abrasion resistance, flame rating, cleaning code, suitability for a particular application, or compliance with any building or fire code, each of which must be confirmed against the current specification sheet for the specific product and dye lot.
4. Off-Site Commerce
Products offered by the Martyn Lawrence Bullard Atelier, on the 1stDibs storefront, and by partner and licensee brands are sold by those parties on their own platforms under their own terms of sale, pricing, shipping, returns, warranty, and privacy policies. Links from the Site to those destinations are provided for convenience. MLB is not the seller of record for those transactions and is not responsible for their fulfillment, condition, or customer service.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including photographs, renderings, floor plans, video, text, editorial copy, blog posts, pattern and colorway designs, layout, and the compilation and arrangement of that content, is owned by or licensed to MLB and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual property laws. Photographs of completed projects are used under license and may carry additional restrictions imposed by the photographer, the publication, or the property owner.
"Martyn Lawrence Bullard," the MLB monogram, "Live, Love and Decorate," "Star Style," collection and pattern names, and associated logos and marks are trademarks or service marks of MLB or its licensors.

Users may view the Site and share individual pages through ordinary social sharing and linking. Users may not copy, reproduce, republish, download, scrape, mirror, frame, modify, distribute, publicly display, sell, license, or create derivative works from any part of the Site without prior written permission. Users may not use Site content, including project photography, to train, fine tune, or evaluate any machine learning or artificial intelligence model, and may not use automated systems to extract content from the Site. 6. Names, Likenesses, and Third-Party References
The Site references publications, television programs, brands, properties, and individuals in the course of describing the professional work and press history of Martyn Lawrence Bullard. Those references are descriptive and do not imply that any person or brand endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with MLB beyond the relationship described. All third-party names and marks remain the property of their respective owners.
Users may not use the name, image, likeness, voice, signature, or marks of Martyn Lawrence Bullard, or of any client, guest, or collaborator appearing on the Site, for any commercial, promotional, endorsement, or advertising purpose without express written permission.
7. User Content
By posting a comment, submitting feedback, or otherwise transmitting content to MLB ("User Content"), the user grants MLB and its affiliates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, copy, reproduce, adapt, edit, translate, reformat, distribute, transmit, publicly display, and publicly perform that User Content in connection with the Site and MLB’s business. No compensation is payable, and MLB may publish the user’s name in connection with the User Content.
The user represents and warrants that they own or control all rights in the User Content submitted, that it does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or misleading. MLB may remove, edit, or decline to publish any User Content at its sole discretion and is under no obligation to monitor it.
8. Acceptable Use
The user agrees not to:
- Use the Site in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- Copy, scrape, harvest, mirror, or exploit Site content for commercial purposes without written permission;
- Use bots, crawlers, or automated tools to access the Site other than search engine crawlers respecting the Site’s robots directives;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, its administrative interfaces, or any connected system;
- Introduce malware, conduct denial of service activity, or otherwise interfere with the operation or security of the Site;
- Impersonate any person, misrepresent identity, professional credentials, or trade status, or falsely state or imply an affiliation with MLB;
- Use the Site or its content to harass, defame, stalk, or infringe the rights of any person, including any client, guest, or collaborator featured on the Site;
- Collect or attempt to collect personal information about other users or about any individual featured on the Site.
9. Third-Party Links and Platforms
The Site links to third-party websites, retailers, showrooms, publications, and platforms. MLB does not control those destinations, does not review or endorse their content, products, terms, or privacy practices, and is not responsible for them. Use of a linked destination is at the user’s own risk and subject to the receiving party’s terms.
10. Sponsorships, Partnerships, and Affiliate Relationships
Certain content on the Site describes brand partnerships, licensed collections, sponsored placements, or links through which MLB may earn a commission. Material connections are disclosed as required by law, and further detail is set out in the Disclaimer. Inclusion of any product, brand, showroom, hotel, restaurant, or destination in editorial content is not a warranty of its quality, availability, pricing, or suitability.
11. Accuracy and Availability
Site content may contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information, including project details, credits, awards, press citations, showroom locations, collection availability, pricing referenced in editorial copy, episode listings, and travel or address content. MLB may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice and does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. USE OF THE SITE IS AT THE USER’S OWN RISK.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD LLC, MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE OR ANY RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF MLB FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT PAID BY THE USER TO MLB IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Certain jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, and the foregoing may not apply in whole or in part.
14. Indemnification
The user agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Martyn Lawrence Bullard LLC, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, and their affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and partners from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of the user’s use of the Site, the user’s User Content, the user’s violation of these Terms, or the user’s violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
15. Privacy
The Privacy Policy, available at martynlawrencebullard.com/privacy-policy, describes the collection, use, and sharing of personal information, including through advertising and identity resolution technologies, and the available opt-out mechanisms. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 17, the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter not subject to arbitration, and the user consents to that jurisdiction and venue.
17. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration before a single arbitrator under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration shall be conducted in English in Los Angeles, California, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
EACH PARTY MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE THE CLAIMS OF MORE THAN ONE PERSON.
This Section does not waive the right to bring an individual action in small claims court, to seek relief from a regulatory agency, to seek injunctive relief in aid of arbitration, or to bring an action for infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property.
18. Copyright Complaints
Notice of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act may be sent to hello@martynlawrencebullard.com and should identify the copyrighted work, the material claimed to be infringing and its location on the Site, the complaining party’s contact information, a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that the complaining party is authorized to act, and a physical or electronic signature.
19. General
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between the user and MLB regarding the Site. MLB may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new effective date, and continued use of the Site after that date constitutes acceptance.
